Amiga-Devkit is a new collection of development utilities for AmigaOS 3.2 projects using a GCC cross-compiler. The toolkit focuses on automating repetitive tasks such as Workbench icon generation, software localization, character encoding validation and distribution package creation.

Amiga-Devkit - Python scripts to help prepare applications for AmigaOS 3.2
The collection includes amigaicons.py for generating classic four-colour Workbench icons, GlowIcons and NewIcons. The catcomp.py utility converts .cd and .ct localization files into C headers and catalogs compatible with locale.library. Another component, distlib.py, provides functions for preparing LHA archives, converting documentation to ISO-8859-1 and assembling distribution packages suitable for Aminet.
Amiga-Devkit also provides a Makefile rule called charcheck, which detects UTF-8 encoding in files that must use ISO-8859-1. The toolkit can be integrated into other repositories as a Git submodule, and an optional configuration automatically runs encoding checks after changes made by Claude Code. All tools are written in Python 3 without additional dependencies.
The project's target platform is AmigaOS 3.2 on 68k processors, while the tools can be run on a development computer with Python 3 installed. The author is André Gewert, who used Claude Code to create the collection of scripts.
