AmiForge 0.2 has been released, updating the native development environment for AmigaOS 4.1 based on the Scintilla editor and GCC 11 from the system SDK. The IDE supports C, C++ and PowerPC assembly, API code completion, AutoDoc documentation, integrated building and debugging tools.
New features include split views, a minimap, multiple cursors, code snippets, Find All References and Rename Symbol. The debugger now supports Edit and Continue, allowing developers to modify a function while execution is paused and resume the program without losing its data. A live Intuition inspector, memory leak tracker and sampling profiler have also been added.
The update introduces a visual ReAction GUI designer with live preview and C code generation, nine project templates and one-click creation of Aminet-ready LhA packages. Git integration has been expanded, while additional tools include hex, icon and image editors, an ARexx port and distributed builds through distcc. AmiForge also provides an MCP interface that allows external AI assistants to control selected IDE functions.
